To be honest I didn’t get into it or know anything about it at all. But that’s typical of course, a day that should be important enough to shout from the rooftops gets hardly any acknowledgement. Oh and not to mention it’s TRANSPHOBIA awareness day too.
Anyway the only think worth noting about this day is this message that my friends mother sent her this morning.
“Today is homophobic awareness day, my wish for you my darling daughter is that you will one day meet someone who loves you as much as I do and that when and if you want to you can marry her. I love you always, mum xxx”.
I almost cried. Just a few simple words can be so beautiful and touching sometimes…

CALLIE: K.
ARIZONA: I’m mad that you slept with someone else and I know that we were broken up, but still. You slept with someone else. And I’m even madder that that person has a penis. And I know that you’re bisexual. I know that, but still—
CALLIE: Would you rather I slept with a busty red head? Cause—
ARIZONA: You have to give me a chance to process this, okay!? I am processing!
CALLIE: I didn’t plan this. Okay? I didn’t plan any of this. But there’s a.. a mighty oak, or whatever, showing up in our lives in about seven months, so… now I have to plan. And I don’t know how long I can wait for you to process, but I… I want you… in my plan. I want you to be a part of my plan. So… are you in? Or are you out?
ARIZONA: I’m in. I’m in. But you have to give me, you… I’m just… I’m so… I’m still… I’m so mad… at you. So, you have to give me a minute.

Arizona: When I came out to my brother, he asked me if that meant that I was going to marry a chick. And when I said yes he had this big smile and he said… I’m gonna dance so hard at your wedding… My dreams are coming true. Dreams I didn’t even know that I had, but brother is not here. He’s missing it. And I know that I’m late, I know it, I know it. But why do you think that my dad schedules every minute of every day? I mean, if every minute is accounted for then there is no time to slow down and just, I just… I need a minute to miss my brother.
